Have you thought about why you exercise?
Whether you want to get in better running shape, lose weight, strengthen your muscles, or just enjoy training with others, remember:
Training should be FUN! π
If you see exercise as a chore, then you might need to reconsider your options.
It's not about running a marathon, and it's not even about if you hate running. It's about moving in a way that makes you smile, gives you energy, and makes you feel amazing afterwards. π
π Do you love music? Dance your way to happiness in the living room!
π Are you social? Find a partner and try a team sport!
π Do you like nature? Take a walk in the forest or try mountain biking!
π Do you need some peace and quiet? Combine yoga or swimming, for example!
The most important thing is that you find what gives you energy and joy. And remember, a little is always better than the alternative β nothing. Start small, build on it, and remember to enjoy your progress. π
When it comes to exercise, there are some minimum recommendations, but anything you do beyond that β because you just enjoy it β is a pure bonus for both body and mind! πͺπ
Also be aware that the body's needs for types of exercise change over the years. The older you get, the more important strength and balance training becomes β both for the sake of relieving pressure on joints, your posture and to prevent falls.
Minimum recommendations from the Danish Health Authority:
For adults, it is recommended to:
β
Exercise at least 150 minutes a week at moderate intensity (e.g. brisk walking, cycling, swimming).
β
Or at least 75 minutes at high intensity (e.g. running, HIIT training, ball games).
β
Do strength training at least 2 times a week (e.g. bodyweight exercises, weightlifting or yoga).
If you want to divide it up, it could be, for example, 30 minutes 5 days a week or 15 minutes daily β everything counts!
The extra β because you enjoy it! π
Once you find an activity you love, don't think about time or obligation β do it because it feels great!
The more you enjoy it, the faster it will become part of your joy of life and lifestyle. Exercise should not be a punishment β ββit should be your time to gain energy, joy and energy! π
The body loves exercise, and I enjoy pampering both my body and my own mood and energy level.
